Viola Lady Hume Campbell is a small spreading ground cover with round leaves and sweetly scented double lavender flowers from late Autumn through till Spring. Lady Hume Campbell belongs to the more exotic group of Violets called the Parma Violet; these plants are said to have originated in Italy in the 16th century. Like all Violets, this variety prefers a damp shady position however will cope with full sun in cooler regions. Violets can be used in baskets, containers or under larger plants as they will form a compact dense ground cover with the right amount of shelter and watering. Likes a well drained soil in full to part shade and grows better if regularly fertilised.
